A man was fatally struck by a vehicle last week in west suburban Countryside.

About 8:30 p.m. on June 18, a vehicle was westbound in the 6800 block of Joliet Road after exiting the Tony’s Fresh Market parking lot when it hit 50-year-old Ted Chudzik as he crossed the street, according to a statement from Countryside police.

Chudzik, who lived in Indian Head Park, was transported to LaGrange Memorial Hospital, where he died, police said.

The driver, a 79-year-old woman from Indian Head Park, stayed at the scene after the crash, police said. No citations have been issued.

The South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating.
