A 32-year-old man was shot to death Saturday in Gresham on the South Side.

Andre Lyons was on the street about 2:05 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Aberdeen Street when an unknown person began to fire shots at him, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was struck in the head and once in the back.

The man was rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead about 50 minutes later, authorities said. He lived in the same block where he was shot.

An autopsy conducted Sunday concluded he died as a result of his injuries, the medical examiner’s office said. His death has been ruled a homicide.
