An extra-alarm fire destroyed a banquet hall Monday in northwest Indiana.

Firefighters were called about 2:45 a.m. for reports of the blaze at the Allure on the Lake banquet hall, 526 Indian Boundary Road in Chesterton, Indiana, according to Chesterton Fire Department Shift Captain Rudy Jimenez. They arrived to see fire coming through the roof.

The fire is out, but crews were still at the scene looking for hotspots as of 8:30 a.m., Jimenez said.

No injuries were reported, Jimenez said.

An attached hotel, which had between 50 and 60 people inside, was evacuated when the fire broke out, according to Jimenez. Firefighters were able to stop the fire in a hallway that connected the two buildings and prevent it from spreading to the hotel.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
