Three teenagers were wounded Sunday in a shooting on Interstate 57 near Blue Island.

About 12:02 a.m., someone in a dark sedan fired shots at a van in the northbound lanes of I-57 near 139th Street, Illinois State Police said.

Two 17-year-old girls and a 17-year-old boy were taken to local hospitals for treatment, police said. Their conditions were stabilized.

The van in which the teens were riding was carrying a total of 13 people, police said. Neither the driver, a 42-year-old man, or any of the other passengers were injured.

Illinois State Police are investigating.
