Officers found the man dead of a gunshot wound to the head at 12:36 a.m. in an alley in the 5800 block of South Wabash Avenue, Chicago police said.

A man was found fatally shot Wednesday in Washington Park on the South Side.

Officers found 29-year-old Jonathan Jones with a gunshot wound to the head at 12:36 a.m. in an alley in the 5800 block of South Wabash Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

An autopsy released Wednesday said Jones, who lived in West Pullman, died from multiple gunshot wounds, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

No further information was immediately available, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
