A motorcyclist died in a crash Monday on Interstate 90 in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates.
The 23-year-old lost control of his motorcycle about 1:30 p.m. on the eastbound entrance ramp from Beverly Road near milepost 58.5, Illinois State Police said in a statement.
Matthew Studinger was thrown from the bike into the lanes of I-90, where he was struck by a semitrailer, state police said.
Studinger, who lived in Decatur, was taken to a hospital, where he died, state police said.
An autopsy Tuesday found he died of multiple injuries from the crash and his death was ruled an accident, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
The 28-year-old man who was driving the semi was uninjured. State police were investigating the crash.
