A 52-year-old woman died after crashing a vehicle into the rear of a semitrailer last week in west suburban Willowbrook.

Tammy Palarz was driving southbound on Route 83 about 2:45 p.m. on July 12 when she hit a semi stopped at a red light at Archer Avenue, according to DuPage County sheriff’s office spokesman Bob Harris.

Palarz was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. She was pronounced dead within the hour.

An autopsy found Palarz died of multiple injuries from the crash, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled accidental.

Harris said the investigation is ongoing pending toxicology results. No one else was injured in the crash.
