Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor will visit Chicago next month for a Q&A discussion supporting her new children’s book.

The discussion, which will be moderated by Women & Children First bookstore, will happen Sept. 11 at Senn High School, 5900 N. Glenwood Ave. After the Q&A, Sotomayor will sign copies of her new book, “Just Ask!: Be Different, Be Brave, Be You.”

Sotomayor’s book, releasing Sept. 3 from Penguin Random House, draws on her childhood experiences after being diagnosed with diabetes to celebrate differences that make people unique. It tells the story of children from various backgrounds coming together to build a community garden.

Copies of “Just Ask!” will be available for purchase at the event.

Sotomayor became the first Latina Supreme Court justice after President Barack Obama nominated her in 2009. She’s also the author of “My Beloved World,” “Turning Pages” and “The Beloved World of Sonia Sotomayor.”

The Q&A will begin at 6 p.m. More information can be found on Women & Children First’s website. “Just Ask!” is available now for pre-order.
