The Civilian Office of Police Accountability has released two videos that show an off-duty Chicago police officer in a brief shootout with an armed robbery suspect on the Far South Side.

A woman was walking to her car in the 10700 block of South Morgan Street about 8 a.m. June 9 when a white SUV pulled up and someone inside told her to “give us whatever you have,” police said at the time.

The woman ran into a nearby house for help. Video released by COPA shows a shirtless off-duty police officer coming out of a house and pointing a gun at a white SUV.

The woman, who went back outside with the officer, can be heard yelling “F--- you” to the occupants of the SUV before three shots are fired. The officer and woman then ran back into the house as the SUV drove off.

It’s unclear how many shots were fired by each party. The day of the shooting, police said the officer fired one shot and one more came from someone in the SUV.

No one was hurt in the shooting, and police records show no arrests have been made.
