A woman and man were fatally shot Friday in Lawndale on the West Side, according to police.
They were seated in a car about 4 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Kostner Avenue when someone exited another vehicle, approached them and fired shots, Chicago police said.
The pair were struck multiple times and taken by paramedics to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. The 29-year-old woman and 37-year-old man were both pronounced dead.
The woman was identified as Nikisha Cherelle Stevenson, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She lived on the Near North Side.
The man was identified as Darvell Jermaine Murry of Austin on the West Side, the medical examiner’s office said. Autopsies Saturday ruled both of their deaths were homicides by multiple gunshot wounds.
Area North detectives were conducting a homicide investigation. No arrests were reported.
