A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle last week in a shopping center parking lot in west suburban Forest Park.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Aug. 16, the 67-year-old woman was walking east across the Lathrop Avenue exit and entrance drive of Forest Park Plaza, 7600 Roosevelt Rd., when she was hit by a vehicle that was turning onto the drive to exit the lot, according to Forest Park police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

She was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she died hours later, the medical examiner’s office said. She lived in Forest Park.

An autopsy performed Monday found she died of multiple injuries from a motor vehicle striking a pedestrian, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled an accident.

Police said there was no crosswalk where the woman was walking and the driver stopped and is cooperating with investigators. No citations or charges have been issued as authorities continue to investigate.
