I don’t know what should have been done in the Jussie Smollett. Maybe mistakes were made.

But I do know it’s a very small piece of the great work that Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and her colleagues are doing in her office.

Since Foxx took office in 2016, violent crime in Chicago has decreased every year. This, despite the police being unhappy that she doesn’t throw the book at every person they bring in.

Finally, we have a state’s attorney who is committed to convicting the guilty and exonerating the innocent. Her good works include increased protection of women and children, challenging unfair immigration practices, working toward criminal justice reform and securing convictions in 17 first-degree murder cases just in the past 6 months.

So enough about Smollett. I’m tired of it and want to hear some good news for a change.

Foxx is doing just what we elected her to do.

‘I would vote for anybody who isn’t Trump’

I am a Jewish senior citizen who will vote for a Democrat in the next presidential election.

President Donald Trump rants that I am disloyal. I am, but not in the anti-Semitic way he thinks. I am disloyal to Trump’s ignorance, his racism, his inhumanity, his corruption, his dishonesty, his generally irrational and dangerous behavior.

I hope the Democrats come up with a strong candidate, but Trump has created such a despicable leadership condition in this country and the world that I would vote for anybody who isn’t Trump.

A question for Melania Trump

Is it just me or does President Donald Trump’s immigrant wife, Melania, approve of the way he talks about and treat immigrant families?

Why won’t Melania speak up?

If Trump were married to one of the other minorities out there that he abhors, do you believe that person would not speak up?

I’m just saying!
