Man seriously injured in Loop crash

A 34-year-old man was hospitalized in serious-to-critical condition after two SUVs crashed at Columbus Drive and Balbo Drive, Chicago fire officials said.

A 34-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday in a crash in the Loop.

About 6 a.m., the man was traveling through the intersection of Columbus and Balbo Drives in an SUV when his vehicle collided with another SUV “in some sort of t-bone accident,” Chicago fire officials said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said.

Additional circumstances of the crash were not immediately clear.
