An 87-year-old woman was killed in a crash in north suburban Wilmette.

Emilie Barry was involved in a crash about 3 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 2100 block of Old Glenview Road, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An investigation found she was driving a Toyota Prius eastbound on Old Glenview Road when she veered off the road and crashed into a utility pole, Wilmette police said. Barry was the only person in the car, and she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

She was taken to Evanston Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:13 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. She lived in Evanston.

An autopsy found she died as a result of multiple injuries from a motor vehicle striking a fixed object and ruled her death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

Wilmette police did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
