Man killed in Cragin drive-by

A 47-year-old man was killed Friday in a drive-by in Cragin on the North Side.

About 8:05 p.m., the man was driving a truck northbound in the 5100 block of West Belmont Avenue when someone inside a black SUV fired shots at him, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Community First Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest but was later pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as 47-year-old Paulino Tinoco Ramirez of the Hermosa neighborhood, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy released Saturday found he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
