Chicago police are warning residents to always be aware of their surroundings following four robberies reported in August and September in Washington Park on the South Side.

In each incident, one to three men approached victims on the sidewalk and demanded their property before fleeing, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The robberies happened:

  • About 3:40 a.m. Aug. 28 in the 6100 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive;
  • About 3 a.m. Sept. 2 in the 6000 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive;
  • About 5 p.m. Sept. 9 in the 6300 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive; and
  • About 8 a.m. Sept. 11 in the 6300 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
