About 7:45 p.m., officers responded to the scene of a crash involving two vehicles with severe damange in the 14400 block of Kenton Avenue, and found the driver of one of the vehicles, Linda Smolik, unconscious, Midlothian police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Smolik, who lived in Worth, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 8:24 p.m., authorities said.
An autopsy released Friday found she died of blunt force injuries from a motor vehicle collision.
