Indiana woman killed in Crete semi crash

The woman, 53, was driving across Illinois Route 394 when a southbound semi truck slammed into her, Illinois State Police said.

An Indiana woman died Thursday after a semi truck t-boned her car in south suburban Crete.

The woman, 53, from Dyer, was eastbound in her Ford Fusion about 6:10 p.m. when she tried to cross Illinois Route 394 and a southbound semi slammed into her, Illinois State Police said.

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
