Boy, 15, among 2 wounded in Austin shooting

Officers heard gunfire about 12:21 a.m. in the 4800 block of West Van Buren Street and found the boy and man with gunshot wounds.

Two people, including a 15-year-old boy, were shot Sunday in Austin on the West Side.

Officers heard gunfire about 12:21 a.m. in the 4800 block of West Van Buren Street and found the pair with gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

The teen was hit in the arm and abdomen, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A 36-year-old man was struck in the back and taken to the same hospital, police said. His condition was stabilized.

Area North detectives are investigating.
