A man who was reported missing from Albany Park on the North Side was arrested by Naperville police the day he went missing.

Chicago police said in an alert that Gabriel Melendez was last seen Dec. 30 in the 3300 block of West Irving Park Road.

Melendez was taken into custody that day and charged with three counts of criminal sexual abuse after allegedly having sex with a girl at a motel, according to Naperville police.

Chicago police canceled his missing person alert Wednesday night as a result.
