Chicago police are warning residents of two carjackings and an armed robbery reported in South Side neighborhoods.

In each incident, females were approached by two or three males, one of which had a handgun, Chicago police said in a community alert. In two of the incidents, the females had their vehicles stolen and in the third she had her purse stolen.

The robberies happened:

  • About 8 p.m. Jan. 8, in the 10700 block of South Emerald Avenue,
  • About 8:15 p.m. Jan. 12, in the 10400 block of South Charles Street; and
  • About 7:15 p.m. Jan. 15, in the 9900 block of South Vincennes Avenue.
