Chicago police are warning residents of two armed carjackings reported in January on the Near West Side.

In each incident, victims are approached by one or two males who order them out of their vehicles at gunpoint, according to a community alert from Chicago police. The males are also accompanied by someone driving a getaway car, described as a gray SUV or minivan.

The carjackings happened Jan. 10 and 23 in the 2600 block of West Jackson Boulevard, police said. The first incident happened about 2:25 p.m. and the second about 4:50 p.m.
