2 men shot on Near West Side

They were waiting at an intersection in separate vehicles when they heard gunfire and felt pain, police said.

Two men were wounded in a shooting Monday on the Near West Side. 

They were sitting in separate vehicles about 2 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Jackson Boulevard near Damen Avenue when they heard gunshots and felt pain, Chicago police said. 

A 59-year-old was hit in the thigh, while the other man, 24, was struck in the foot and leg, police said. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized. 

Area Central detectives are investigating.
