A man who was found with head injuries in the 3500 block of West 24th Street was pronounced dead Jan. 5, 2020.

A 48-year-old man died of head injuries about a week after he was assaulted in Little Village on the Southwest Side, according to an autopsy. 

Sean Greenwood was pronounced dead about 7:20 p.m. Sunday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. 

Greenwood was found with head trauma and extensive swelling about 5 p.m. Dec. 28 in an alley in the 3500 block of West 24th Street, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. 

An autopsy determined his injuries were caused by an assault and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Englewood.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
