Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chicago time. After that, the moon moves from Capricorn into Aquarius.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This is a poor day to deal with authority figures, especially if you want to ask for something. They won’t be receptive. Quite likely, their answer will be, “Talk to the hand.” Meanwhile, check the moon alert. Don’t initiate anything new in the morning.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

A teacher, professor or mentor might be strict or grumpy this morning. You might be hampered by rules, laws and regulations this morning. Bummer. (Nevertheless, this morning is a poor time to initiate anything.) Just coast. Check moon alert above.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Today is a mixed bag. In one way, others might be stingy and doors will be closed to you. But in another way, perhaps dealing with a group or an organization, people will be sympathetic to your situation. Yes, it’s a bit of a crapshoot. Don’t ask for anything this morning.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Relations with partners and close friends are testy and a bit glum this morning. People are moody. But things look worse than they really are. As Eeyore would say, “It will probably rain.” Nevertheless, travel plans might blossom in a lovely way!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Today work will be a bit of a grind — no question. You’ll be humming The Volga Boatman song. Just cope as best you can because actually, work-related travel and dealing with groups or charitable organizations might benefit you. Who knew?

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Children might be an increased responsibility today. This is also a challenging day for romantic partners. Don’t expect too much from others — be realistic. Meanwhile, the seeds of a potential exciting vacation in the future might germinate! One can only hope.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Relations with a parent or an authority figure in the family or someone older or more experienced will be a bit grim this morning. They might be critical of you. Or perhaps you just feel their judgment? Relax because as the day wears on everything gets better. (Would I kid you?)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

It’s easy to fall into worry mode today. Worry is mostly a habit. Remember that saying: “Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but gets you nowhere.” Relax. Think positive thoughts and put a smile on your face. (Fake it till you make it.)

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Your financial prospects look dim today. This is not what you wanted to hear. Ironically, even though something looks like a squeeze play, something else will come along that looks unbelievably promising! Who knew?

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Today you feel a bit shut off from others. Your self-confidence is weak and you’re not too keen to interact with others. Primarily, this is how your morning will begin. Later in the day, it’s as if the sun breaks through the clouds and you feel better!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You will want to work alone or behind the scenes this morning because life looks grim. You won’t feel like networking or interacting with others, and if you do, these exchanges will be discouraging. Have courage because as the day wears on, you get happier!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Someone older, perhaps in a position of authority or perhaps they are more experienced — whatever the case — this person might rain on your parade today. You will feel diminished or judged. Don’t let this get you down because later in the day, others (especially in a group situation) will be supportive to you!

If Your Birthday Is Today

TV host Trevor Noah (1984) shares your birthday today. You are reserved but also intuitive. You wait before you make judgments about others. You have an excellent memory. This is your time of harvest! Yay! Now you will begin to reap the benefits of your efforts in the last decade. You deserve this time of success. Expect to enjoy an increased influence and leadership in your relationships. Yes!
