It’s happening: Dead and Company will be back on the road this summer.

Featuring Grateful Dead singer/guitarist Bob Weir and drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann playing alongside singer/guitarist John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge and keyboard player Jeff Chimenti, Dead and Company’s 17-date summer 2020 run kicks off July 10 and 11 at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado.

The tour arrives at Wrigley Field for shows on July 24 and 25. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Feb. 14 at ticketmaster.com.

The band joins the growing roster of artists slated to play Wrigley Field this summer including Maroon 5 (June 13), Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer (Aug. 13), Def Leppard & Mötley Crüe (Aug. 28), Chris Stapleton (Aug. 29) and Zac Brown Band (Sept. 12).

These 17 shows will be the only headlining dates for Dead and Company in 2020, according to a news release.

Tour dates also includes a two-night engagement at Boston’s Fenway Park to close out the tour on Aug. 7 and 8.

Dead and Company make their debut at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Aug. 1. The show marks a return of sorts; MetLife Stadium is at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, where the Grateful Dead had performed at the former Brendan Byrne Arena and Giants Stadium a combined 30 times, according to online fan database DeadLists.

The Grateful Dead released the archival box set “Giants Stadium: 1987, 1989, 1991,” collecting five previously-unreleased shows at the venue, in 2019.

American Express card holders will have access to pre-sale opportunities in select markets from noon Tuesday, Feb. 11, through 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. Registration is open through 10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program. Other pre-sale offerings also will be available. More information can be found at deadandcompany.com.

VIP ticket packages for all dates and travel packages for select cities go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday via CID Entertainment.

Dead and Company spent the fall and winter of last year delivering stunning back-to-back nights at storied venues across the country, including Madison Square Garden in New York; Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York; the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia; the Forum in Los Angeles; and the Chase Center in San Francisco.

The band also has stayed active on the festival scene. They staged their Playing in the Sand gathering in Mexico in January, and were recently confirmed for this spring’s New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, where they play on May 2.

Since debuting in 2015, Dead and Company has continued the rich musical legacy of the Grateful Dead, consistently delivering compelling and jam-heavy two-set shows that add new threads to a musical tapestry spanning decades and generations.
