Police are warning North Side residents about a pair of armed robberies Friday morning in Uptown and Lake View.

In each case, two men got out of a dark four-door sedan and held a victim up at gunpoint, according to a community alert from Chicago police. They took the victim’s property, hit the victim and left.

In one case they also stole the victim’s vehicle, which was parked nearby, police said.

The first robbery occurred at 5:02 a.m. in the 4800 block of North Sheridan Road, police said. The other happened at 5:05 a.m. in the 500 block of West Cornelia Avenue.

The suspects were described as two men between 30 and 35 years old with brown eyes and black hair, according to police. One was between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall and weighed 150-200 pounds, while the other was about 5-foot-9 and 235 pounds.
