A man was killed in a shooting Monday in Lawndale on the West Side.

The 30-year-old was found about 6 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Lexington Street with multiple gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as James Nichols. An autopsy confirmed he died of his gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.

Area North detectives are investigating.
