A man died in a rollover crash Monday afternoon while exiting I-294 in Western Springs.

The crash happened about 3:08 p.m. at Ogden and Grand avenues in a Cook County forest preserve, Western Springs police said in a statement.

He was driving on a northbound exit ramp when his 2007 Cadillac CTS struck a guardrail and drove across Ogden Avenue, police said. The car continued and struck a tree about 25 feet north of Ogden.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said.

He was identified as David Steven Martin, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy confirmed he died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
