An 18-year-old man was found shot to death inside a vehicle Tuesday in Gresham on the South Side.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired about 8:30 p.m. and attempted to stop a vehicle, Chicago police said.

The vehicle stopped in the 8000 block of South Carpenter Avenue and two people inside ran, police said.

Still inside the vehicle was Maurice A. Jones, 18, officials said. He had a gunshot to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Autopsy results were inconclusive Wednesday afternoon pending a police investigation, the medical examiner’s office said.

No arrests have been made.
