CTA Red Line trains are running with delays Sunday after service was suspended due to debris on the tracks near the 79th Street station.

The CTA resumed service about 9:45 p.m., the transit authority said, nearly half an hour after they stopped trains between the Garfield and 95th Street stations.

Earlier in the evening, the CTA suspended Blue Line service between the Forest Park and Harlem stations on the Forest Park branch due to flooding. Torrential downpours Sunday evening have shut down roadways across the area, and caused the Chicago River to overflow its banks.
