Four people were seriously injured in a two-car crash Monday afternoon in Englewood on the South Side.

Paramedics responded to the crash about 1:15 p.m. at 59th and Aberdeen streets, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt.

A 24-year-old woman sped through a stop sign on Aberdeen and was struck by a 35-year-old man driving east through the intersection, Chicago police said.

The woman and her three passengers were taken to hospitals in serious-to-critical condition, Merritt said. Police said their conditions were later stabilized.

The woman was cited for driving on a suspended license, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving without insurance, police said.
