Carlus Suncin fatally hit by vehicle in Calumet City

Carlos Suncin was found with severe head trauma in the middle of the street in the 500 block of Douglas, authorities said.

A man was killed after he was hit by a vehicle June 29, 2020, in the 500 block of Douglas in Calumet City.

A Calumet City man died after being struck by a vehicle Monday in the south suburb, police said.

Authorities responded to a call of a crash about 2:15 a.m. in the 500 block of Douglas and found the 29-year-old in the middle of the street with severe head trauma, Calumet City police said in a statement.

The man, identified as Carlos Suncin by the Lake County coroners office, was taken to Franciscan Health Hospital in Hammond, Indiana, where he was pronounced dead. A ruling on the cause and manner of his death was pending.

Calumet City police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
