A man was hit and killed by a vehicle Saturday in Mount Greenwood on the Far South Side.

A 2015 Honda SUV was southbound at 11:53 p.m. in the 11100 block of South Pulaski Road when the man in his 20s walked into the street, according to Chicago police.

The SUV hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No other injuries were reported.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 21-year-old John Roche Jr. An autopsy ruled his death an accident.

The male driver of the Honda stayed at the scene after the crash, police said. No citations have been issued as of early Sunday and alcohol did not appear to be a factor.

The CPD Major Accidents unit is investigating.
