A suspect is in custody after a 36-year-old man was shot to death Sunday near Lockport in the southwest suburbs.

The alleged shooter called 911 to report someone shot in the 100 block of Pendleton Street, according to a statement from the Will County sheriff’s office.

The victim was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, the sheriff’s office said. A suspect was arrested at the scene. No charges have been filed.

The victim’s name has not been released by the Will County coroner’s office.
