Man fatally struck by car while changing flat tire in Naperville

The accident happened Friday. The man was taken to Edward Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A 28-year-old man from Naperville died after being hit by a car Friday in the western suburb.

A 28-year-old Naperville man died after being hit by a car Friday in the western suburb.

He was changing a tire in the southbound curbed lane of Naper Boulevard south of Plank Road about 3:30 p.m. when he was hit by a Volkswagen Rabbit, Naperville police said in a statement.

Marckyle Morales was taken to Edward Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police and DuPage County coroner Richard Jorgensen.

Police said the driver of the Volkswagen was a 23-year-old Naperville man.

No citations were issued as of Monday morning, police Sgt. Rick Krakow said in an email.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 630-305-5477.
