Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions until 11 p.m. Pacific time. The moon is in Cancer.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You are sensitive to the moods and needs of others. You will feel this when talking to family members, especially a parent. This is why you want to do whatever you can to help them or to make their life easier and more pleasant. (Noble aspiration.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Don’t be down on yourself if you spend a lot of time daydreaming today. We all have days like this. Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand ... while imagination embraces the entire world.”

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Be careful. You might be tempted to spend money on extravagant, luxurious items because you want to get something to match your fantasies — or a reasonable facsimile thereof. (No animals were harmed in the writing of this column.) Be careful and keep your receipts.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

The moon is in your sign dancing with Neptune, which makes you sensitive to the moods of other people. You can pick up on their impressions and feelings almost immediately (along with the acid rock coming through your Mercury fillings.) This is why you feel sympathetic to others.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

You’re very susceptible to the feeling of others. It’s as if you’re an open sponge. Therefore, avoid people who are in a negative mood or anyone who will be an emotional vampire to you. You don’t need this. Protect your tender heart.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You might find yourself putting a friend up on a pedestal. You admire this person. Of course, this is not a realistic view of anyone. Furthermore, this is a sure set-up for future disappointment. Do your friend a favor, and even if your head is in the clouds, keep your feet on the ground.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You are susceptible to an element of hero worship. You might worship someone in authority, or vice versa, someone might worship you. This is because people are inclined to admire others and see them as better than they are. It’s a tricky day.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Because your imagination and appreciation of beauty are heightened, you will delight in any chance to see museums, art galleries, gorgeous buildings, beautiful parks or pristine nature. You will resonate with the beauty around you. You might take a picture and post it on Facebook.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Because you feel sympathetic to someone who is less fortunate than you, you will use your influence as well as your share of funding or resources to help others in need. This is admirable. But don’t forget that you have needs, too.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Hopefully, you can share your heightened appreciation of beautiful things with someone who is close to you — perhaps a friend, spouse or a partner. You will love the company of someone with whom you can share your love of beautiful things. (Not always easy to find.)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Someone related to your work or involved with your health or a pet might come to you with their concerns. They want your advice or your counsel. Keep in mind that what people mostly need is a sympathetic ear. You can be that person today.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You feel tender-hearted to children and their needs. You will also have a greater appreciation for the arts, the entertainment world and any expression of clever talent. Give yourself a chance to enjoy the magic that people can create

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster (1990) shares your birthday. You are reserved and yet, you have an appealing almost dashing style that impresses others. You are likable in a friendly way; nevertheless, people know you’re serious about what you are doing. (No question about that.) You’ll be pleased to know that in your year ahead, you might get a promotion, kudos or praise from your peers. Success awaits you!
