Two children were among six people injured after a porch collapsed Tuesday afternoon in Austin on the West Side.

They were on the back stairs of a building in the first block of South Lavergne Avenue when the porch collapsed about 2:50 p.m., Chicago police and fire officials said.

A 24-year-old woman, 33-year-old woman, 7-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, officials said.

Two other women, 27 and 31 years old, were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were also stabilized, police said.
