2 wounded in shooting on Eisenhower Expressway near West Garfield Park

Two people were wounded after they were shot June 21, 2021, on Interstate 290 near West Garfield Park.

Two people were wounded in a shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway near West Garfield Park Monday night.

Emergency crews responded to the westbound lanes at Kostner Avenue about 10:30 p.m., Illinois State Police said.

Two people, the front and rear passengers, had been struck by gunfire and were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, state police said. The driver was not injured.

All lanes of traffic were closed and traffic diverted to Independence Avenue until about 3:45 a.m.
