Man fatally struck by car in Morgan Park

The 60-year-old man was hit as he stood in the street in the 11100 block of South Halsted Street, Chicago police said.

A man was fatally struck by a driver in Morgan Park on the Far South Side.

A man was struck by a car and killed Wednesday night in Morgan Park on the Far South Side.

Just after 6 p.m., the driver of a sedan went through an intersection in the 11100 block of South Halsted Street and struck 60-year-old Victor Anderson, who was standing in the street, Chicago police said.

He was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license.

The Major Accident’s Unit is investigating the incident.
