A man was critically injured after he was struck by a car driven by a 96-year-old woman in West Rogers Park Tuesday evening.

The woman was making a right turn in a red Toyota Corolla in the 7200 block of North Western Avenue about 8:25 p.m. when she struck the man who was crossing the street, Chicago police said.

The man, 75, suffered trauma to the back of the head and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The woman refused paramedics’ help, according to police. Citations were pending.
