Man killed in East Garfield Park shooting

Someone fired shots into a building in the 3200 block of West Maypole Avenue striking the 23-year-old multiple times, Chicago police said.

A 23-year-old man was fatally shot inside a building Sunday in East Garfield Park.

Just after 6 a.m., a male fired shots into a building in the 3200 block of West Maypole Avenue striking the 23-year-old multiple times, Chicago police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:58 a.m., according to police.

The man was identified as Maurice Dotson, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The shooter fled the scene, police said.

There is no one in custody as Area One detectives investigate.
