One person was killed and another seriously injured after a Metra UP-NW train struck a vehicle Friday afternoon in Norwood Park on the Northwest Side.

The incident happened near Northwest Highway and Nagle Avenue, according to Chicago fire officials.

The men were both transported to Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition, fire officials said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported one man, 33, died of his injuries just before 7 p.m. His name has not yet been released.
