The status of Bears tight end Martellus Bennett for Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers is in doubt because of a ribs injury. He’s officially listed as questionable and did not practice on Friday.

“We really don’t know right now,” coach Marc Trestman said. “He’s been inside [Friday], getting treatment. We’re hopeful he’ll play. We’ll see what happens.”

Bennett was injured during practice on Thursday. The Bears listed him on the injury report as limited that day.

“It was just kind of awkward on the practice field,” Trestman said. “That’s kind of all there was. He twisted a little bit and we’ll see where he is.”

The Bears have taken a cautious approach to a number of their injured players this season. But Bennnett has a history of playing through injuries. Earlier this season, he revealed that he played through a torn MCL and a separated shoulder in 2013.
