The Bears will have heightened security at Soldier Field for Sunday’s game against the Broncos in the wake of the Paris attacks, and are telling fans to plan accordingly.

The Bears issued a statement on Friday to encourage fans to enter the stadium earlier than usual to avoid congestion. Gates open at 10 a.m. with extra security measures in place outside and inside Soldier Field. The team declined to elaborate on the increased security measures.

The Bears said the NFL’s bag policy will be strictly enforced, meaning that backpacks, purses and bags exceeding the NFL’s size standard will not be allowed. Guests will be allowed to carry blankets into the stadium.

Fans can also bring a clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag that does not exceed the size of a typical one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag. In addition, fans can carry a small wristlet/clutch bag or purse that does not have a handle or strap.

Diapers and baby wipes can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, is allowed to carry in one clear bag. Exceptions will be made for medical reasons after inspection at Gate 10.

The Bears’ pregame ceremonies will focus on the NFL’s Salute to Service initiative.
