Ryan Pace wasn’t kidding when he said there was no such thing as too many pass-rushers. The Bears GM signed linebacker Sam Acho to a one-year deal Wednesday.

Acho adds to the Bears’ depth at outside linebacker and gives them yet another veteran player familiar with the new 3-4 scheme. He is the ninth Bears player signed to a one-year deal in the past two weeks.

In four years with the Cardinals, the former fourth-round pick started 32 games and played in 19 more. He totaled 13 sacks and 16 tackles for loss, forced seven fumbles and intercepted three passes.

The Texas alum started four games last season, including the NFC Wild Card game, recording one regular-season and postseason sack.

Last week, Pace said the team could keep as many as nine linebackers, highlighted by free agent signee Pernell McPhee, and did not close the door to drafting a pass rusher.

“I don’t think you can have enough good pass rushers,” Pace said. “And I think Seattle is an example of that. So, if the right pass-rusher is there in the first-round, we’ll take that.”
