Former Bears defensive end Ray McDonald was arrested for the second time in three days Wednesday — on suspicion of violating the restraining order given him after Monday’s arrest on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence and child endangerment, according to Santa Clara (Calif.) police.

McDonald was present at a residence in Santa Clara, violating his restraining order. He was later located at a Togo’s sandwich shop and arrested without incident.

McDonald was released by the Bears on Monday. Team chairman George McCaskey said Wednesday he wondered whether he should have done anything different when considering whether to sign him.

He said the Bears’ process was correct but that he made the wrong decision.

Just a day before the Bears are expected to use the first pick in the NFL draft to draft quarterback-of-the-future Caleb Williams, the team will announce their plans for a state-of-the-art, publicly-owned stadium on the lakefront. The plans, according to the team, will include “additional green and open space with access to the lakefront for families and fans on the Museum Campus.”
