Every week of the 2015 Chicago Bears season, Chicago Sun-Times Sports will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1985 Bears by speaking with players from the team including Jimbo Covert, Dan Hampton, Dennis McKinnon and Otis Wilson.

Alshon Jeffery’s status for the Chicago Bears’ first game of the 2015 NFL season against the Green Bay Packers this weekend remains uncertain.

Former Bears defensive end Dan Hampton sounded off on Jeffery in the video below at the 50-second mark.

“Alshon’s the resiliency of tissue paper,” Hampton said. “Got something wrong with his calf.”

Hampton also said he’s looking forward to seeing Jay Cutler.

“When is Jay Cutler going to become a top five quarterback?,” Hampton asked.

Even though he’s rooting for the Bears, Hampton went with the Packers for his pick of Sunday’s game.
