Jared Allen has decided to call it quits after 12 seasons.

The former Bears defensive end and lover of the outdoors retired only as he could—riding a horse off into the sunset.

Allen, 33, was a five-time Pro Bowler and made the all-Pro team four times. He spent a season and a half with the Bears before being traded to the Panthers, where he played in his first Super Bowl. Allen recorded one tackle in the 24-10 loss to the Broncos.

Will Allen’s rodeo partner, Charles “Peanut” Tillman, be next?
