Peyton Manning will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, but his Super Bowl performances have been underwhelming.
In a pair of Super Bowl wins, Manning combined to throw just a single touchdown pass – this from the man that set the NFL record with 55 touchdown passes in 2013.
In what could very likely be the final game of his career, Manning led Denver to a 24-10 win over Carolina Sunday night despite not throwing a single touchdown pass. He became the first Super Bowl winning quarterback to do so since Ben Roethlisberger in Super Bowl XL.
In that game, a 21-10 win over Seattle, Chicago nativeAntwaan Randle El threw Pittsburgh’s only touchdown.
Manning’s only score in a Super Bowl win came in the Colts’ 29-17 victory over the Bears in 2007.
He combined for just two more in a pair of losses – a 43-8 loss to Seattle in 2014 and a 31-17 defeat at the hands of the Colts in 2010.
Peyton Manning's 56.6 passer rating is the fourth lowest for a winning QB in Super Bowl history. But he's going to go out a winner.
